"Last year's Sleepwalk last with 440 other ladies was greatfun! The walk was different to anything I've done for a while. It was great that wehelped raise a staggering £91,000. I like the this years t-shirts. They certainly attract attention when I'm out training."

You can start collecting sponsorship straight away by setting up an online fundraising page with http://www.justgiving.com/. It's very easy to do and takes all the hassle away from chasing people up, especially those people you don't see very often. Remember that you will need to promote your online fundraising page - nobody does that for you. We'll send you paper sponsorship forms as well.
This year, with generous support from Corus, we are hoping to have 1,000 women walking and to try and raise at least £150,000. This all goes to make sure that Lindsey Lodge can offer its special care free of charge to people at their time of need.
Sleepwalk 2007 was a sponsored 13 mile night walk through the street of Scunthorpe, starting at Glanford Park at midnight on Friday 29th June 2007. Over 440 women walked and have raised nearly £91,000 to date. Thanks go to everyone who was involved, including the many companies which supported Sleepwalk 2007.
We are currently planning Sleepwalk 2008 which will take place on Friday, June 27th 2008. We hope it will be bigger and better with more people and more fun. If we can get 1,000 women walking in nighties or pyjamas it would be wonderful! Sleepwalk 2008 is supported by Corus, Scunthorpe United F.C and Limelight Software Ltd.
Don’t worry if your friend/partner feels left out they are also being encouraged to come along and act as stewards along the route, walk as marshalls or help back at base.
The walk will start at Glanford Park at midnight on Friday 27th June 2008 with a carnival atmosphere of music starting with a mammoth aerobics session as a warm up to the stroll that follows. All walkers will walk together with a front and back marker to ensure that everyone remains together.
To help you see where you will be walking please click to see a map Sleepwalkroute.pdf
On arrival back at Glanford Park each participant will receive a medal and a yellow balloon to let go into the morning sky dedicated to someone special in their lives. More music will welcome everyone’s return along with a free breakfast to replace all those worked off calories.
Each participant who registers will receive a training pack comprises of a training T shirt, nutritional and training advice, a copy of the routes along with Fund Raising Guidance and Sponsorship forms. There will also be regular training advice published in the Telegraph.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice is an independent Charity offering a range of specialist services for people with specific life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and motor neuron disease.
The Hospice was opened in September 1992 to provide loving, specialized nursing and medical care which is sensitive the needs of the individual patient and family. Currently they provide 24/7 in patient care with 10 in patient beds, plus an additional 14 day care places as well as additional services such as their Lymphoedema Clinic.
All services are offered free of charge. Some funding is received from the North Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust, but most of the income is gratefully received from the generosity of local people and organizations.
Providing these services costs Lindsey Lodge Hospice around £1,500,000 per year – that’s around £3 for every minute. So every £1 raised is precious and gratefully received.
